what is chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a natural, safe, non-invasive form of health care which focuses on creating optimum spinal health.

Chiropractic treatment consists of a combination of techniques to treat a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions. We strongly believe that treating the underlying cause, and then helping you to prevent its recurrence, is much more effective than offering short-term pain relief.

what does a chiropractor do?

When asked this question, the majority of people would say that Chiropractors treat back pain.  Whilst many clients visit our practice with back pain, Chiropractic may be used to treat a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions.

During treatment a Chiropractor uses their hands to locate the joint which is not moving properly and uses a quick impulse to free the joint so that it moves once more.  This is called an adjustment.  The adjustment releases restrictions in the joint, takes pressure off the nerves and assists the muscles in working normally.  The spine can then gradually return to its optimal working condition.

A treatment session may involve several different techniques including manipulation, soft tissue work, stretching and exercise prescription.  We use a variety of techniques and select the best techniques to suit you and your condition.
